1 Day to Go

It was finally time to put all the gear (All 80 lbs of it) on the bike. I could definitely feel the weight difference wheeling it around, worriedly thinking about handling tomorrow when I get it on the road.

My route and cell phone coverage, am glad I am bringing an inReach for emergency texting and weather forecasts.

There’s also the bike with all the luggage on it. Not sure I like how the crash bar bags fit, but the rest is on there. Worried still about the weight and balance and will be taking a longer look after the first couple of days before I get into the gravel in the latter half of Route 389.

Tried filling up the tank and the fob based tank lid release was once again not letting me get it open. Realization struck that since I mounted the SW Moto tank bag ring, I now need to bring some Allen Keys as well. Everything on the BMW is Torx except everything I add from a NA manufacturer. Glad I tried that before I got on the road, would have been awkward starting the trip with 80km of fuel and no way to fill it without tools I didn’t have on-hand.
