Day 2 – Quebec City
Getting to Quebec City was not as exciting as expected. The jog via Ottawa did take me through some other parts of Quebec but unfortunately they weren’t that memorable. Worse, was that the *entire* day was a mix of dry pavement with occasional sun and wet pavement, in some cases with an inch or two of water sitting on it from the heavy rain.
The gear stayed dry but rain on two wheels adds another factor to driving, particularly when other vehicles throw up so much mist it’s hard to see.
I stayed in motel that must have been intended for the conference crowd since it was surrounded by bridges and highways. A short walk in the rain away was a takeout pizza place that had “Dine-In” on the menu and I went. They did make me a table of sorts and I ate there before walking back to glorious sunshine drying out the road.
I think I lost my cable ties (I use them to secure the bigger stuff to the bike) while unpacking the bike.
One thing I saw that I thought was genius, putting the parking spot lines all the way up-to the store fronts so that the “I’ll stop here just a minute” people can’t.
