Random Tidbit #1

I stopped at the side of the road and learned an important lesson. The stuff there is a bit softer and generally slopes away from the roadway. Well, when I put the kickstand down, the bike was resting partially on it and secure. After a few minutes of fiddling, it fell away from the kickstand after the tires (which carry all the weight) sank into the softer road shoulder.

Embarrassingly enough, I had to remove luggage from the bike. With it sloped down (and the slope rapidly worsening) I didn’t have the reach or strength to heave it over towards the road. Something to said for travelling light, bike and everything else attached to it …
