Randomness #2
On the way to my hike on Day 6 by motorcycle I managed to catch my iPad bracket before it went overboard. The screw had worked it’s way out earlier I’m guessing and the bracket just decided then to follow it. Without it, I don’t have my navigation iPad in line of sight, which, arguably for this part of the trip (Stay on 389, until 500) probably doesn’t matter but it is important to know what the pace was and when it’s time to set up camp.
Mike, the most English speaking staff member here took me to the tool shed to help me find a screw that which we eventually cut and I forced the two parts together again. It will do until I get home.
Clinton from SMART Adventures taught me to check all the screws and attachments after every ride. ADV motorcycling over gravel roads involves a lot of shaking and vibration and screws come loose. Most screws get Loctite (glue for screws) to keep them from coming lose and working out, but it never occurred to me that my iPad bracket and it’s one screw should get the same treatment.
